Duke Nukem Forever is fun, fast paced, old school, not overly complicated and shouldn’t be missed by fans.
Duke Nukem Forever has without question, been in development longer than any other video game to date. This could be a good sign, and it could be a very, very bad sign. There are several reasons why Duken Nukem Forever was in development for so long, but I am not going to bore you with all those unnecessary details. Let’s dive right in to the meat and potatoes of the game, Duke Nukem Forever Gameplay.
Duke Nukem Forever The Good:
Sexy, funny, and violent, interactive objects are unique, feels good to shoot everything, Duke’s personality is intact
Duke Nukem Forever The Bad:
Dated design, visuals, and overall feel, may be too offensive for some, hideously long load times
Younger gamers who have never played or even heard of Duke Nukem are most likely not going to happily jump right into Duke’s shoes. Sure they will love all of the crude humor, hot naked and half naked chicks, the smart ass wise cracks, and the blood and gore, but they will cringe at what matters most, the gameplay.
Duke Nukem gameplay is not like the fast paced games of today like: Call Of Duty Modern Warfare, or Halo Reach. The gameplay is well, Duke Nukem. It plays just like the first game, in fact it almost feels flawed because of this. There are enhancements in graphics and sound, but Duke Nukem controls just like the earlier game from so long ago. This was no mistake, it was done intentionally. It is a tribute, or a Hail To The King if you will.
The real question on everyone’s mind is this? Does the classic style Duke Nukem gameplay that was so much fun years ago work in today’s hyper fast world of modern shooters? The verdict appears to be split right down the middle.
50% of gamers just don’t like Duke Nukem Forever. The controls aren’t as fluid and sharp as Modern Warfare. The other 50% of gamers really like Duke Nukem Forever. They are comfortable in Duke’s shoes, and they are having a blast destroying the Alien bastards that are trying to take over the planet, and more importantly Duke’s women. He won’t stand for it, and neither should you.
Sure there are some areas of the game that don’t seem very polished. Some textures aren’t super high resolution, and if that is a problem for you then you are missing the whole point of Duke Nukem Forever. This game is supposed to be fun! What other game allows you to pick up a turd from a toilet and toss it against the wall? What other game let’s you actually take a piss? What other game is loaded with great smart ass remarks that always put a smile on your face? There are no other games that offer all of that. Duke Nukem Forever is fun, and if you keep that in mind then you should have no problems destroying all of the alien scum.
If you are still not sure about Duke Nukem Forever, your in luck. Just try the Duke Nukem Forever Demo. This way you can really get a feel for what it is like to play Duke Nukem Forever without having to fork over your hard earned cash.

The graphics really killed the game for me. I thought it was funny, but it just didn’t look as good as my other Xbox games.
