We Rule, We Farm, We City & We Thoughts

Put all that new water in your We Rule Kingdom and Realms to good use with the new Naval Ships and Fish Market! They pair perfectly with the all new Lake Tiles. I have to admit I do like this We Rule sailing theme and was even hoping for more ships.

The extra We Rule levels took me by surprise though and since I was not expecting them, all I ever did on We Rule was to fulfill orders and could not even be bothered to harvest all those ruby trees anymore … so when the new We Rule levels were added I was sitting at the early stage of level 39 and let me tell you, it seemed to take forever to finally reach level 40. But I finally did it!

5 new levels were also added to We Farm finally. At the time of writing this I am still sitting at level 33 and it seems to take forever to level up but not surprising since the earnings on We Farm have always been a bit low until now with some of the latest additions.

Ngmoco also added an acreage upgrade on We Farm which was very welcome to be able to build all those new buildings but I am bit curious about the farm upgrades that are now available. The only purpose  to upgrade I thought, was to gain more land but those 2 new farm upgrades do not indicate any increase in land and are also very costly.

Eventually I will upgrade like anybody else but since it is not going to give me any xp and until someone can confirm that it is going to give me a land increase it will have to wait. I am still trying to get the last We Farm Award – The Vault Endurance – which is to collect 1,000,000 Gold. I am close to reach it but every time a new item is released, I just have to have it and my Gold Balance just plummet…

We Rule, We Farm, We City & We Thoughts

Greetings We Farm Earthlings! Strange lights in the sky were seen over many We Farms, and reports of black helicopters soon followed...

We Farm has had some good worthy addition finally like the Fixer-Upper Truck (though only available with Gro), the Auto Body shop and the Diner just to name a few. But the latest additions did puzzle me a bit: the Meteor Site available for 32000g or 15 Zap and the Crop Circles. What I like about the Meteor Site is the instant build for once but it comes at a price… Ngmoco always has something up their sleeve. Normally we would get about 3200xp points to build it but we only get 625xp.

Then there are the Crop Circle… What’s the deal with those Crop Circles? They can only be bought with Gro and other than looking pretty cool and costing 3 Gro each, we gain nothing for them, I did not even see any xp points gain.  So please can somebody enlighten me with those crops…

As much as I love those games, one thing is starting to really annoy me with the “We” trilogy though: the fact that some item can only be bought with Mojo, Gro or Zap.

We Rule, We Farm and We City are supposed to be free games and I understand that Ngmoco has to earn money like anybody else but not everybody can afford to spend big bucks especially if you are to compete for a place on the leaderboards… Sometimes I have to stop and think if I would rather pay for a game and have nothing else to buy or get a free game knowing that I would have to pay for all additions.

Ngmoco fixed a lot of things with We City but they are still prioritizing the sale of Zap. Lets take the latest addition to We City for instance.

We Rule, We Farm, We City & We Thoughts
For a limited time in We City you could get a piece of history by adding the Colosseum which cost 30 Zap so I did not get it. But next, Ngmoco comes with the 8 Wonders of We City. Magnifique!  The Eiffel Tower is here and is only requiring another 30 Zap…

Since they are available for a limited time only, no point expecting saving enough zap by collecting them through leveling up…  Considering that I received a whooping 7500xp to build the Eiffel tower, I would assume its cash price would have been 75000c which at this point in the game it would take quite a while to earn that kind of cash. So to get the 8 Wonders, you would need 240 Zap… and you can get that for just $29.99! If that is not a money driven game now, I don’t know what is. But as I mentioned before, Ngmoco is a business and it needs to make money…

If you look at We Rule Spice It Up latest additions with a Butterfly Garden and a Spice Market.

We Rule, We Farm, We City & We Thoughts

I always tend to omit reading the fine lines and just go straight into my inventory since I know it will take forever to build anything. At first it looked like the Butterfly Garden was only available in exchange of Mojo so I decided not to go ahead with it as I already spent a fair bit just to get a ship. When I logged back in again though, I paused for a second to wonder why it said “levels 16 & 32… Scrolling down towards the end of the inventory, here it was, the Butterfly Garden available for 230000c.

I think it makes sense to offer items at lower levels but only available with Mojo and offer a way more expensive options and at a higher level rather than offering just a Mojo, Gro or Zap buy option and I would love for Ngmoco to take this avenue a bit more often.

In We City, Ngmoco has taken the right step in my opinion to lock some items making a fairer game to compete for a place in one of the 3 leaderboards. Except, once again, if you can afford to buy Zap, you can buy some of the locked items with it… So what was the point to lock the items in the first place? Obviously not to make it a fairer games as I first thought.

Out of the We Trilogy, We Rule will stay my favorite but I do enjoy We City far more than We Farm. The disappointment in We City is the sudden change in Earnings. As for We Farm, it is a lot harder to earn anything in We City than in We Rule. Until Ngmoco brought out some good ways to earn cash and xp with the Pizza, Taco and Sushi shops and then took it away without any warnings… but hey Ngmco did that On We Rule with the Ruby and Grove trees, so we should not be surprised anymore.

Now before I finish up my rantings, let me ask you a little question:

If You Play We Rule, We Farm Or We City, Do You Buy Mojo, Gro or Zap?

On another note, Ngmoco has a weekly We Farm contest.  If your Farm gets chosen as the Red Ribbon Farm of the Week you’ll get 30 Gro! So it might be worth to check it out here.

I am considering putting up a We City guide eventually since we already have We Rule Tips and We Farm Walkthrough but unfortunately I do not have much time on my hands to do it at the moment.
