PS3, XBOX 360, Wii, or PSP?

I have a playstation 2, but I want to upgrade. Im actually fairly new to the gaming consoles, so Im not sure which I should go with. Im fond of Playstation, but Ive done a little research and it seems the people who own a PS3 are having issues with it after a certain amount of time. Ive never played an Xbox and my little sister has a Wii that Ive only played once.

I need help choosing between the three. Pro’s and Con’s for the different systems would be very helpful, and any personal experiences I would also appreciate. I want a system that will last me a while… one that’s going to give me the least amount of problems, and one that has a decent selection of games.

Im into playing games like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Bioshock, and Dead Space if that has any determination in which I should get.

Please, be serious. I honestly need opinions that are worth reading :)

(Im 23 and my girlfriend is 19 if that makes any difference)

We would only be downloading certain games (If any at all) And we wont be using it for online gaming.

And anyone who owns a PSP, please give your opinion on that as well, I might even look into buying one of those, though the selection for my taste in games is slim. Thanks :)

I’m sorry but the PS3 is the most reliable out of the two major systems PS3 and 360. My PS3 never freezes, overheats or any of that stuff. I went through 4 Xbox 360s in 1 year to the Red Ring of Death. I’ve had my PS3 going on 2 years with no problems what so ever. Each system has it own exclusive games but if your into playing the games you listed (Resident Evil, Silent Hill etc.) most if not all of them are not exclusive to 1 system they are found on both systems respectively. If your fond of Playstation products go with PS3 its worth it. If your not going to be doing a lot of online stuff PS3 is the best for that too because the online is free where as 360 is $50 a year and if your looking to buy a PSP the PS3 is nice because you can download demos of PSP games on your PS3 and put them on your PSP so you can try out games before you buy.

Ps3s i heard were not worth it as to they are only good for searching the web.
I have a xbox 360 and i love it. You have your xbox live. Plus i believe almost all or most of the games that you have said are for this system. I love my xbox because it is good for everyone in my family becuase my family ranges from 2-38. Plus if you wanted to you could buy microsoft points and buy points on your 360 to download games. I love microsoft because i have had thethree red rings of death once in two years and i got a new xbox within a week and they have a 3 year warranty. I love microsoft
I wii is good for exercise games and active games as to the titles are all brand new. Also you can only play with people at your home and it doesnt play dvds.
I would never tell anyone to get a psp because i got one 2 years ago for my bday and i returned it within a few months. Their is only a few games that are good out their. and if they are good they end quick. Also you have to charge a psp everytime you use it.

I would go for a 360…if you are that concerned with the freezing of the PS3s. However, I do know several people who own PS3s, and they have had nothing but great things to say about them so far. I helped my best friend buy an 80 gig about a year ago and he is still thrilled with it, has not had any issues whatsoever My boyfriend and all of my friends are pretty big gamers, I myself mainly watch and learn but I do know a fair bit about it, so I guess if you want to take any advice I have to offer just take into account that I am not a “serious” gamer. My boyfriend actually just updated to an XBOX 360 as well, he previously owned an original XBOX and a PS2, and he loves that as well. Resident Evil 5 is amazing on it :) With your taste in games I would definetely rule out a Wii, and as for the PSP, I bought somone one for their birthday a year ago and he LOVED it… for about the first 4 months. Then it kind of died, it won’t charge and is unuseable. He has not been able to get it fixed, and to be frank it caused him a lot of grief for a while. If you like playing with friends or your girlfriend you should take into account also that the 360 has many more multiplayer and co-op games available than pretty much all other consoles. On the other end of the spectrum if you buy an 80 gig PS3, which is fully backwards compatable, you can continue playing your favorite PS2 games all on one console (The 160 gig, however, is no longer backwards compatable, and the 360 is only backwards compatable with some games, strangely). I hope my answer helped you and narrowed down your search some, and good luck to you!

    it actually depends
if you want family fun and play with others i recommend the wii
the ps3 is good but as of now, its still young on games.
Xbox yes, large selection of games and not far behind from the ps3
psp: good for gaming on the go. i had a problem with the analog stick though, but its worth it.

all in all, it depends on you

If you have a lot of money, go for PC gaming. Better graphics, more customizable, and I think you can use a wii remote, and there are many gamepads available.. it’s more expensive, but for about $1000 you could get better graphics and performance than any console…
    Try newegg.com.
All those games you said are available for PC, i think, but I’m 100% sure BioShock and Dead Space are. And PC games are normally much cheaper.

PS3 HANDS DOWN! there is soo much more things u can do on a ps3, and the interface looks soo much smoother. i have not heard about these ‘problems’ with the ps3, but i do know that xbox360 are notorious for the ‘rings of death’ which is quite common and completely disables ur xbox

I have a Xbox360 myself so of course i’m going to get it but…im not…You should get you ps3 80gb cause it capable with the ps2 plus you dont have to pay to go on live..since your so fond of sony im sure you love all your ps2 games and the sequels to those games would be ps3 exclusive. And theres no point getting a wii cause your sis has one…if u wanna experience something new then i recommend the xbox360.But you gonna have to pay for a lot of adds for it..It like a extra rent for you.Lol
