Game On Now!
It has been a while since being able to spend that much time playing video games. As our first gaming console was the Playstation 2, I was always into Playstation games such as Final Fantasy, Tomb Raider, The Devil May Cry, Time Crisis and Gran Turismo until JAG got me onto xbox live (we were playing co-op games about 4-6hrs almost everyday). At home my son & I had one rule: PS3 was mine and xbox 360 was my son’s. And JAG hated the PS3…
Playing video games makes me forget about everything else and shooting zombies or anything else for that matter is just a great stress reliever in my opinion. But first I had to recover my Gamertag…
When playing Halo 3, my Son was using my Gamertag because his was “somehow” banned to play this video game only. With my back and forth traveling to the USA, I had not been able to play any video games for months. So my dear Son thought I would no longer need my xbox live account and decided to change my Gamertag’s name!!!
There was also issues with the fact that our credit cards details were on the xbox which was not easy to get the details removed, so my son would buy Microsoft points from time to time… My ex and I put a stop to that by buying prepaid points’ cards…
But I was still a bit upset with the fact that he had changed my name. With time on my hands I decided to recover my Gamertag while in the States so that I could play games and also to revert my Gamertag to my name. In doing so, my Son was unable to access my profile from his xbox and after receiving a few “hate” messages, I had the feelings he was very upset…
I went and bought some Microsoft points from Kmart as it costs 800 points to change a name.
To cut a long story short, my original Gamertag was made in Australia so you cannot use points bought in the USA. You cannot change the country of your Gamertag so Microsoft help desk advised me to either get a refund from the shop where I bought the points which was negative or to create a new Gamertag.
My son had bought quite a lot of Halo 3 related downloads and I felt terrible knowing that he was so upset about the whole thing so after some reflections I decided to let him have my account and to just create a new one with my name as before.
So now everybody is happy again and I just have to work on getting some new achievements. Not that I had that many since I only started playing xbox live mid-2008 but for instance I know that I won’t replay Gears of War or Castle Crashers… But that’s ok, plenty of games coming out all the time…
Favorite games I have started to play again are Call of Duty 4 and Left 4 Dead.
I also started to play Batman: Arkham Asylum after watching JAG play the whole game and Prototype but I am having difficulty with the controls.
My son and I never got the chance to play co-op video games together so lately we have been spending a bit of time teaming up on Resident Evil 5, one of my favorite games and really enjoying playing with him. I particularly like it when he is actually teaching me something on the game…
I love co-op games…
